Many watermarking softwares allows you to overwrite the source images, but since the watermarking process is an irreversible process the TSR Watermark Image Software do not allow the option of overwriting the source files!

Answer:
The free watermark software you have downloaded and installed are the same as the registered watermarker, you just need to enter your registration code into the Help->Register menu at the top of the program, than you can start applying watermarks to your photos.
